    Question

    Hi,

I am trying to think of ways for this scene which needs to be shot in one shooting. This woman is naked, the man is not, he gets mad pushes the woman against this bureau and she falls onto the floor. The guy stands over her says a line and then turns her over and there is blood in her hair and trickling down her face. How can I get this accomplished without stopping and without the woman ever being out of focus? Also about the actress hitting her head how can it be made to seem realistic?

I would appreciate any help you could provide.

    Thanks,
    J.T.

Couldn't the woman have the fake blood in her hand in whatever container (bag?) and then squirt it onto herself when she falls.

You would not need there to be very much blood unless your film is over the top.

When I was a kid me and my brother used to act out fighting scenes all the time. We'd make up fake blood, put it in a bag and make it look like we were being shot. We ended up quite convincing.

This scene sounds like it carries some action therefore one continuous cut would just slow it down. Use many cuts and then it'll be simple to apply some blood in between. It's the easy but cinematic way out. Long shots in an action scene like this just slow down the momentum and that's what you DO NOT want.

Don't use much blood -- if any at all. Every independent filmmaker thinks blood is the answer. It makes the film look cheap and gross. Concentrate on attractive lighting and performances. That will impress more.
